December 2019 Quarter Earnings Schedule for STI Constituents

  • The diversified STI index – the most globally recognised market barometer for Singapore – tracks the performance of the 30 largest and most liquid companies listed on SGX.

  • Over the past month, 9 constituents of the Index have released their earnings for the quarter/full-year ended 31 December 2019. Another 7 are expected to unveil their results from 12-14 Feb. The remaining 14 constituents will follow suit in the final two weeks of the month.

  • In 2019, the 30 constituents have generated an average total return of 13.1%, bringing their 1Y and 3Y total returns to 4.0% and 19.6% respectively.




The Straits Times Index (STI) is the most globally recognised benchmark index and market barometer for Singapore. With a history dating back to 1966, the diversified index tracks the performance of the 30 largest and most liquid companies listed on SGX. These 30 constituents have foundations spanning three centuries and multiple sectors, while maintaining a balance between local and regional economic exposures.

Over the past month, nine constituents of the Index have released their earnings for the quarter/full-year ended 31 December 2019. Another seven companies – Genting Singapore, DBS Bank, SATS, ComfortDelGro, SIA, Singtel and ThaiBev – are scheduled to unveil their results from 12-14 February. The remaining 14 constituents will follow suit in the final two weeks of the month. Note that Jardine Strategic, Jardine Matheson, Hongkong Land and Dairy Farm are secondary listings and report their results on a semi-annual basis.

In 2019, the benchmark STI has generated a total return of 9.9%. This compares with total returns of -1.5%, 11.7% and 7.3% for the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the Stock Exchange of Thailand Index and the Jakarta Composite Index respectively.

Over the past calendar year, the 30 constituents have generated an average total return of 13.1%, bringing their one-year and three-year total returns to 4.0% and 19.6% respectively.
