• Prudential announced on 19 Aug 2022 that it will be included in the Hang Seng Composite Index (HSCI) with effect from 5 Sep 2022. This is 6 months earlier than we had expected.
• We had identified Hang Seng Composite Index inclusion as one of Prudential (SGX:K6S)'s upcoming positive catalysts in our report Prudential PLC - CGS-CIMB Research 2022-05-18: Tailwinds Add Up; Initiate With An ADD Rating. This is because we expect Stock Connect inclusion to follow HSCI index inclusion, and start potential mainland fund flows into Prudential from qualified investors (where total individual balance of securities and cash accounts are not less than RMB500,000).
